One of our more challenging designs was this large 2 storey farm style house completed in 2020. Set in rural Thornton close to the beach on a lifestyle section this large family home stands out with multiple dormer roofs, 45 degree roof pitches and internal mezzanines with high windows. With a ground floor area of 180m2 and first floor 120m2 this home is one of the larger designs we have worked on.

DD2 worked with multiple consultants including structural engineers, builders, OSET designers and council planning department. The end result being a well-built family home perfectly suited to the client’s needs which were entertaining and social needs as well as allowing for privacy and space. The downstairs layout ensures that this is not only a home but a working home suitable to the site where the owner can come in from the gardens, clean up and relax.
